“过渡期”条款规定，在2014年8月1日前递交的以下申请，仍然适用于以前对于“随行子女”的定义：
- 联邦申请：如果永居签证或永居身份的申请是在8月1日以前递交的
- 魁省申请：如果CSQ申请是在8月1日以前递交到魁省的，不管CSQ是否已签发；
- 省提名申请：如果提名申请是在8月1日以前递交到省里的，不管提名证书是否已签发。

2014年8月1日起，移民部在审批移民时对随行子女年龄的限制改为19岁以下，取代了之前的22岁以下。然而，许多19到21岁之间的青年并不符合经济类移民的申请条件，这让他们被迫与家人分离。联邦移民部此次放宽年龄定义，将令许多大学生将能够跟随一起移民加拿大。

移民法的名称
移民法的全名是“ 关于控制和限制移民和规定欧盟公民和外国人居留与融合事宜之法（移民法）”。原文是：Gesetz zur Steuerung und Begrenzung der Zuwanderung und zur Regelung des Aufenthalts und der Integration von Unionsbuergern und Auslaendern (Zuwanderungsgesetz)
总体结构
移民法先分成“篇”（Artikel），有的篇长的（如第1篇）下面设“节”（Abschnitt），篇下或节下设“章”（Kapitel），章下设“条”（§），条下或设(1)、(2)、（3）“款”，下面再设1、2、3“点”或称为“段”，或条下直接设1、2、3。移民法下条以下的结构有点乱，现将移民法解读前面几篇原来的“点”统一改成“款”，原来的“小点”统一改成“点”。但仍然难免有错。若要引用，须查原文。

加拿大随行移民子女的年龄调整为19周岁
根据 ** 新消息，目前加拿大政府已经通过了一项法案，关于受抚养子女的定义修改如下：
19周岁以下，并不是配偶或事实配偶;或者
已超过19周岁，但在年满19周岁之前一直依赖于父母的财力支持，并由于身体或者心理状况的问题，无法在财政上自收自支。
